Brussels can pretty much be summed up with two words: cheap umbrellas.
When we arrived in Brussels, after taking the super speedy train from Paris, we couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed by the current state of the weather. However, we were in Europe… in October… Which is pretty much just asking for rain. So, we headed into the streets and purchased ourselves some pretty fancy 5 Euro umbrellas.
Let me tell you something about 5 Euro umbrellas: they don’t work. You may as well take your 5 Euros and toss it in the nearest bin. Or spend it on pastry covered in hazelnut spread because really, that’s a better use of your paper.
Anyhow, Trina and I toured around Brussels, which was great except everything was under construction (literally, everything) and we were getting hit hard with the rain so our tour of the city mostly comprised of finding chocolatiers and eating a lot of sweets.
It was… amazing.
(PS – Scroll down for photos of my sister getting attacked by the wind and the rain. I pretty much stood by, watching her, snapping photos and laughing hysterically. I’ll tell you what though, this is something neither of us will ever forget…)
